The curious thing about emotions is that we all have them; yet, we all bury them for one reason or another. For that reason, Simoné places her full heart on the canvas. Her vision is to uncover what is dark, messy, and often hid, and share those moments in a way that is relatable. When we remember we’re human with the same wants and needs, we can have more empathy towards each other and allow ourselves more joy. As a firm believer in mental health support, she draws her inspiration from her own experiences; neo-expressionism; and the struggle between “the light and the dark”. Firmly believing that art is all around us, we just have to open our eyes and look, Simoné’s art encapsulates her journey towards her ideal self, one of “less thinking, more doing”.
